Exit & Entrance Criteria

KLEIN THERAPEUTIC & READINESS CENTER ENTRANCE CRITERIA

  • An ARD Committee has determined that TRC placement is warranted.
  • Scholar has been previously placed full-time or nearly full-time in a special education program.
  • A comprehensive behavior management plan with revisions must be in place prior to referral to the Therapeutic Education Program.
  • A reasonable attempt to exhaust all outside, non-educational services must be demonstrated.
  • Scholar has been determined eligible for special education services as a result of behavioral, psychiatric, and/or specific learning challenges. This excludes socially maladjusted behaviors, except in those cases where a socially maladjusted student also has an emotional disturbance
  • Scholar has an Individualized Education Plan that documents the need for a placement that is more restrictive in the continuum of services.

KLEIN THERAPEUTIC & READINESS CENTER EXIT CRITERIA

  1. No incidence of physical aggression (innate to disability) toward peers or adults for 9 weeks.
  2. No leaving assigned area/building for 9 weeks.
  3. No threats/severe excessive verbal aggression/terroristic threats for 9 weeks.
  4. No sexual behavior/language for 9 weeks.
  5. Maintain and demonstrate Pro-Social and Academic behaviors in the school setting
